Memory of the World Programme was devised by UNESCO in 1992 in order to facilitate preservation of the world's documentary heritage, enable universal access to documentary heritage worldwide and enhance public awareness about its significance. Individual countries are compiling each its own Unesco Memory of the World national registers; among the entries of the Slovenian register, selected by the national Memory of the World committee, are Jurij Dalmatin’s translation of the Bible, Boris Kobe's concentration camp tarot, the Stična manuscript, and others.
