Maribor Puppet Theatre presents "Cankar" at the 59th International Puppet Theatre Festival (PIF) in Zagreb. Directed by Silvan Omerzu, poetic world of puppets with a distinctive visual aesthetic and subtle animation creates a unique theatrical experience to pay tribute to Ivan Cankar, one of Slovenia's greatest writers, marking the 150th anniversary of his birth.
Ljubljana Puppet Theatre presents "A Mouse Called Julian" at the 59th International Puppet Theatre Festival (PIF) in Zagreb. Directed by Asja Kahrimanović, the performance explores friendship, relationships and the courage to overcome fear.
Slovenian artists who paint with their mouths and feet take part in the European Inclusive Creativity Festival Art4All alongside artists from several European countries. The festival promotes the inclusion and visibility of artists with disabilities through exhibitions and creative workshops for schools and the wider public.
The 36th World Festival of Animated Film, Animafest Zagreb, places a special focus on Slovenia as its country in focus. More than 300 films are screened, including 38 world premieres.
This year the traditional showcase of recent Slovenian film production presents a criminal comedy “This is a Robbery” by director Gregor Andolšek, a feature film “Family Therapy” by director and screenwriter Sonja Prosenc, a documentary film “Woman of God” by screenwriter and director Maja Prettner, and a coming-of-age drama by director Urška Djukić “Little Trouble Girls”.
